These Terms govern your use of our Website only. They do not create a therapist-client relationship. To establish a therapeutic relationship with Reliant Counseling, you must complete our intake process, sign appropriate informed consent forms, review our Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA), sign a Telehealth Consent Form (if applicable), and review our Financial Policies.

3. Eligibility and Age Restrictions

Website Access: To use this Website, you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you may only use this Website with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Therapy Services (Texas Law): Individuals 16 years and older may consent to their own mental health treatment in Texas. Individuals under 16 require parental or legal guardian consent for therapy services.

4. Website Use and Restrictions

Permitted Use: You may use this Website for lawful purposes including learning about our services, reading educational content, contacting us, and scheduling appointments. Prohibited Activities:
  • Violating any federal, state, or local laws
  • Attempting unauthorized access to our servers or client portal
  • Introducing viruses, malware, or harmful code

6. Telehealth Services

If you receive telehealth services from Reliant Counseling, the following additional terms apply:
  • Eligibility: Telehealth services are available to clients located in the State of Texas only.
  • Technology: You are responsible for maintaining a secure, private, and reliable internet connection and device.
  • Emergency Protocol: In case of emergency during a telehealth session, you must provide your current location and consent to us contacting emergency services.
  • Recording: Recording of telehealth sessions is strictly prohibited without prior written consent from both parties.

7. SMS/Text Messaging Terms

Opt-In Consent: By providing your mobile phone number to Reliant Counseling, you consent to receive SMS text messages regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, scheduling updates, billing notifications, and practice announcements. Opt-Out Instructions: You may unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP to any message. Message & Data Rates: May apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. No Third-Party Sharing: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

8. No Surprise Billing Disclosure (Texas Law / No Surprises Act)

Pursuant to the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022) and Texas state law:
  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges for therapy services.
  • This estimate will be provided to self-pay clients before your first appointment.
  • You may dispute any bill that exceeds the Good Faith Estimate by more than $400.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this Website (text, graphics, logos, images, blog posts, worksheets, and design) is the property of Reliant Counseling and is protected by United States and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or publicly display any content without our prior written permission. You may print or download one copy of materials for your personal, non-commercial use only.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RELIANT COUNSELING, ITS THERAPISTS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE WEBSITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED $100.
